There was a time in the 19th century when African Americans were not allowed to marry because they were black.

There was a time in some states when deaf people could not marry because they were deaf.

Before 1967, inter-racial couples could not marry in some states because they were of different races.

Now we are down to one last group who cannot marry: gays and lesbians because they have a homosexual orientation.

History shows that every time a discriminated against group seeks marriage equality, they achieve it. History also shows us that decades after equality is achieved, few people would want to revert to marriage inequality.

Canada legalized same-sex marriage in 2005. It has already become a non-issue in the country. Please join us and give loving, committed same-sex couples -- and their children -- all the status, protections and benefits that other couples receive when they marry.
